Caritas Sri Lanka (SEDEC)

History and Mission:

Established in 1968, Caritas Sri Lanka (also known as SEDEC) serves as the social arm of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Sri Lanka. Inspired by Catholic Social Teaching, Caritas focuses on promoting justice, peace, and development while addressing immediate humanitarian needs.

Key Activities:

• Humanitarian Aid: Provides emergency relief during natural disasters such as floods, landslides, and droughts. This includes distributing food, medical supplies, and shelter materials.
• Development Programs:
